This new under-cabinet profile for the kitchen not only meets functional requirements but redefines the future of interior lighting with a tailor-made, versatility-oriented approach.

VELIT stands out for its mechanical versatility and advanced lighting technology. At the heart of VELIT is a swivelling profile, capable of moving along the horizontal axis at an angle of up to 35°. This flexibility is made possible by the anchorage points located in the side heads and fixing brackets, which allow the user to tilt the light from a projection perpendicular to the work surface to an angle that allows the work surface to be adequately illuminated in the preferred area.

Unlike traditional solutions, where the entire luminaire rotates, with VELIT, only the light chamber pivots while the anchoring structure remains fixed. In fact, the profile is anchored to the side heads attached to the wall unit, as are the brackets that slide along the entire length of the luminaire and can therefore be positioned and attached as desired, guaranteeing a precise orientation of the luminous flux towards the worktop. This innovative solution enables the creation of customised lighting that is perfectly adaptable to the functional requirements of the kitchen, both during installation and afterwards.

Modularity is another strong point of VELIT: the fixing system with adjustable brackets allows the installer to freely choose the length of the profile, up to a maximum of 3000 mm, and to position the brackets at will along the structure. This solution offers exceptional design freedom and facilitates installation in different settings.

VELIT also introduces a novelty in terms of aesthetics and lighting management. Thanks to its integrated eyelid, the focal point of the light source is shielded, creating a homogeneous, glare-free light effect. The profile can be fitted with 6 mm light sources in a single-colour version (available in three colour temperatures) or in a dual-colour version with D-Motion technology, allowing the light temperature to be selected to suit the needs of the environment. To add an emotional touch to the everyday lighting experience, WAVE technology is integrated with D-MOTION to create D-Motion WAVE, introducing the dynamic and progressive switching of the light sources. Inspired by the lighting units of the automotive industry, WAVE creates an elegant and sophisticated visual effect. This not only enhances the visual experience, but also adds a dynamic design touch to the kitchen spaces, transforming lighting into a striking centrepiece.

Available in elegant aluminium and matt black finishes, VELIT can be supplied with or without an integrated switch. The switch is not only for use in turning the luminaire on and off, but also for adjusting the brightness and selecting the light temperature, with the possibility of activating the dimming function via D-Motion Wave technology.

With VELIT, Domus Line continues to propose lighting solutions that combine technology, design and customisation, ideal for meeting the needs of those seeking versatile, high-performance lighting for their furnishing projects.

Salone del Mobile.Milano announces the first Euroluce International Forum https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/12/03/salone-del-mobile-milano-announces-the-first-euroluce-international-forum/ https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/12/03/salone-del-mobile-milano-announces-the-first-euroluce-international-forum/#respond Mon, 02 Dec 2024 19:00:19 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=29109 ]]> The 2025 edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano will herald the launch of the first edition of The Euroluce International Lighting Forum, a global arena for multi-voice discussion on the leading issues in lighting design.

The Forum, to be held 10-11 April 2025, will include two days packed with events, including conferences, round tables and workshops, numerous international guests and a space created ad hoc in the Euroluce exhibition area.

One of the aims of the Forum concept is to offer the design community an increasingly wide-ranging and expanded event rounding off and fully complementing the commercial offering. Light will be the focus of an emotional and cognitive journey, offering visitors an immersive and distinctive experience. Light is addressed not just in terms of its technological potential, but also through a deep and philosophical reflection on its role as an expressive and innovative language.

The Forum will bring together an international panel of creatives, architects, designers, scientists and lighting industry professionals, to discuss highly relevant topics. The first names to be confirmed include DRIFT, specialising in sculptures, installations and experiential performances that underline the parallels between artificial and natural structures, A.J. Weissbard, a lighting designer and multifaceted artist of international renown; and Marjan van Aubel, a leader in the field of solar design for a sustainable, innovative and mindful future.

“Following the first transformation of Euroluce that we set in motion at the previous edition, rethinking the exhibition layout, we are proud to present another important innovation, this time concerning the content of the exhibition. Light is, incontrovertibly, an increasingly integral part of our lives. As a place where ideas and visions that lead to dialogue intersect, laying fertile ground for innovation, the Forum reflects the DNA of the Salone del Mobile.Milano, which has always been a generator and bearer of new ideas and formats for tackling contemporary challenges” – Maria Porro, President of the Salone del Mobile

A structured programme will provide an opportunity to dig deep into key issues such as the interaction between light and architecture and light and wellbeing, through an integrated and multidisciplinary design approach. The central role of light in integrated and sustainable design for public and private spaces, with quality of life and the future of our planet at its heart will be explored.

“Light not only makes things appear, it also creates atmospheres, depths and perceptions capable of interpreting architectures and open spaces, as in a pentagram. The role of the designer is increasingly similar to that of the conductor of an orchestra, who does not just execute a score, but gives a personal interpretation of it. It is with this sort of strategic role within the industry in mind that FederlegnoArredo’s Assoluce felt it was time to set up a dedicated international forum. I would therefore like to thank the Salone del Mobile.Milano for deciding to give shape to this idea with The Euroluce International Lighting Forum, confirming, once again, that our trade fair is not just the world’s leading design and furniture sector event but, uniquely in the world, is the home of entrepreneurs committed to designing the future of the sector they represent” – Carlo Urbinati, President of FederlegnoArredo’s Assoluce

De.Tales and MMA Projects collaborate on Radisson Collection Lingang Shanghai https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/12/02/de-tales-and-mma-projects-radisson-collection-lingang-shanghai/ https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/12/02/de-tales-and-mma-projects-radisson-collection-lingang-shanghai/#respond Sun, 01 Dec 2024 19:00:08 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=29099 ]]> De.Tales and MMA Projects, both international architecture and interior design studios, in collaboration with GALA China, presents the interior design project for the 5-star Hotel & Residences Radisson Collection Lingang Shanghai.

The entire real estate complex covers a total area of 46,700 square meters and includes 462 units, with five-star hotel rooms and apartments. The project encompassed the entire interior design of the structure, where MMA Projects’ focus was on the common areas: the extensive lobby, the service areas, the elevator lobbies of the common areas, the many restaurants, the tea room, the pool, the gym, and the spa. Meanwhile, De.Tales focused on the hotel rooms and residences, the presidential suite and executive lounge, the corridors, and the elevator lobbies on the guest room floors.

MMA-Projects-Radisson-ShanghaiThe leitmotif uniting the two studios is the slow flow, whose design concept draws inspiration from the ocean and the galaxy. The natural line floating through space and leaving a delicate mark on the interiors represents an architectural journey that guides guests through different scenarios, with a perfect blend of Italian and Chinese culture.

The interiors reflect the architectural lines of the buildings, ensuring uniformity and cohesion throughout the project. Principles like spatial continuity, hierarchical organisation, and focus on symmetry forge a strong connection between the exterior and interior spaces.

MMA-Projects-Radisson-ShanghaiMMA Projects focused on, specifically, the grand 19-meter-high main lobby, all service areas and elevator lobbies, many restaurants, the tea room, the pool, the gym, and the spa. The design of the expansive main lobby aimed to scale down the immense dimensions to a human scale and enrich the space. Using curved bronze “screens” as decorative panels, both solid and perforated, was a notable aesthetic choice because they create diverse visual effects from different viewpoints. Given the impressive entrance size, the space was envisioned as a dynamic element: a walkway vertically divides the water feature, forming a central focal point with a fountain and a large stone reception desk. This walkway allows guests to cross the area and reach the piano bar area, where seating is positioned below the walkway level, creating the sensation of immersion in a pool.

MMA-Projects-Radisson-ShanghaiThe Chinese Restaurant offers public and private areas. In the private section, the curvature of the ceiling is accentuated by a series of undulating elements reminiscent of river pebbles. In contrast, in the public section, these gentle elements integrate into illuminated ceilings positioned above each table. Precious marbles adorn both the extensive round tables, accommodating up to 20 people, and the floor, where the curved motifs echo those on the ceiling.

MMA-Projects-Radisson-ShanghaiIn the Radisson Collection Lingang Shanghai project, light plays a fundamental role, with lighting elements conceived as floating luminous clouds that impart elegance, dynamism, and luxury to the space. The expansive triple-height hall features sweeping wings and pillars clad entirely in alabaster travertine, complemented by a floor adorned with an interweaving of curved lines crafted from various exquisite marbles. Predominantly, precious stones, bronze, and wood are used as primary materials.

De.Tales’ interior design approach is focused on creating fluid spaces with a contemporary, refined, essential, and functional style; catering to work, meetings, and relaxation; offering a comprehensive and tailored travel experience. Each area is designed for versatile use, with open flows that adapt to guests’ needs—a layered, multidimensional environment capable of transforming throughout the day.

MMA-Projects-Radisson-ShanghaiFor the hotel rooms and residences, De.Tales designed environments characterised by soft structures welcoming interior solutions defined by finishes reflecting Italian style and quality. The corridors, elevators, and elevator lobbies of both the hotel and residences feature linear, elegant pathways leading to the rooms.

The hotel’s Presidential Suite embodies institutional elegance suitable for an international clientele, embracing design that offers full spatial openness, contemporary flair, intricate details, and stunning views of Dishui Lake. The Executive Lounge, with its sinuous lines and functional spaces tailored for business clients, is designed to enhance interactions and visual appeal across different environments.

MMA-Projects-Radisson-ShanghaiDe.Tales is the Milan-based international architecture and design studio founded by Igor Rebosio and Giuseppe Varsavia. The studio interprets each project by crafting a bespoke design tale for the client, starting from the premise that behind every concept lies a story to be told and that details always matter.

MMA Projects was founded in 1999 by Marco Mangili, based in Barlassina (province of Monza and Brianza, Italy), and over the years has evolved into a “melting pot” of creative minds sharing the same vision. MMA Projects represents the synthesis of contemporary styles and expressions, where the interplay between design and scenography, architecture and technology, is tailored to the context and needs of the client, resulting in functional and poetic spaces.

New Linea Light Group showroom – Milan https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/11/12/new-linea-light-group-showroom-milan/ Mon, 11 Nov 2024 19:00:47 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=28925 ]]> The new Linea Light Group showroom in Milan is a blend of lighting design, technology and innovation. Located in the heart of the city, the 300sqm showroom showcases the perfect combination of aesthetics, technology and functionality.

The LIGHT HUB is a space dedicated to the discovery and experience of Linea Light Group and Stilnovo products.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomLinea Light Group, the Treviso-based company founded in 1976 and a pioneer in LED technology, acquired Stilnovo – the historical Italian lighting brand founded in Milan in 1946 – in 2019. This added an important component to the strategic relaunch of the company’s decorative product offering.

The showroom is laid out to create a unique sensory experience where architecture and design merge to inspire unforgettable emotions. The result of a major renovation project curated by Studio Giuseppe Tortato Architetti, the showroom spans three levels, each one carefully designed to captivate and inspire.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomTwo iconic staircases lie at the heart of the project: a white steel sculpture elegantly graces the entrance, while a second staircase leads to the nerve centre of the showroom, where light can be touched, experienced first-hand and experimented with. Among the highlights is a long red metal table that welcomes visitors with an invitation to creativity, becoming a meeting point for designers and customers.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomThe showroom is divided into two main areas. One more “emotional” part, dedicated to Stilnovo, celebrates decorative and designer lighting with striking settings that captivate and inspire. The other more “technical” one, dedicated specifically to the i-LèD range by Linea Light Group, highlights the precision and quality of professional lighting, offering visitors the possibility to explore and touch cutting-edge solutions first-hand.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomThe ground floor also houses the Meeting Dark, a multi-functional room, that can be used both for displaying products and as a conference room. This space can also be transformed into an event room for thirty people.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomThe Systems & Outdoor Area is in the basement, a space dedicated entirely to technical experimentation and project consultancy. It is the ideal setting for providing support for designers, architects and lighting designers, to test and install the products, with a direct and innovative hands-on approach to the world of lighting.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomThe area has been deliberately designed to resemble a workshop, with walls fitted with aluminium peg boards that hold the accessories and modules for the indoor systems: INK, NODE and Modus. The system modules are showcased at eye-level, allowing them to be directly swapped with those in the racks, offering visitors the opportunity to easily test and customise the systems.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomAt the back, the outdoor solutions are located in two niches in the wall: the linear solution, Xenia Blade Inground, is displayed in the first niche, blending seamlessly into the architecture and bathing the intrados with an elegant light, while the Orma uplight, embedded in the ground, and the Portik ceiling light, installed at the top of the recess, are located in the second niche.

Linea-Light-Group-Milan-showroomThe vault is also on the same floor, an area with a futuristic design, which turns the LIGHT HUB into a genuine testing lab. The space is surrounded by custom-built cabinets with several safes resembling a real vault that contain pre-wired, ready-to-use equipment, ideal for testing or brought directly to the installation site as mock-ups.

The first floor of the hub houses Linea Light Milan’s operational office, a functional, modern space where part of the company’s team works. Even though it is a workspace, it has been designed to maintain a balance between design and technology, thus reflecting the company’s identity.

The LIGHT HUB experience is not limited to simply showcasing products: every area of the LIGHT HUB is fitted with advanced technologies, such as the TWIL control system to create custom lighting scenarios. This makes the showroom a go-to destination for anyone seeking innovative, designer solutions in the lighting industry.

Linea Light Group “LIGHT HUB” showroom is located at Via Giovanni Boccaccio 15/A, Milan.

Teo Table Lamp by Luca Nichetto for Salvatori https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/10/29/teo-table-lamp-by-luca-nichetto-for-salvatori/ Mon, 28 Oct 2024 19:00:44 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=28811 ]]> Introducing the Teo cordless table lamp, designed by Luca Nichetto for Salvatori and inspired by the work of renowned architect Ieoh Ming Pei. Combining the delicateness of paper and the elegant solidity of natural stone, this charming and original expression of harmony creates the perfect mood lighting both inside and outdoors.

“This project took a bit of time to achieve the desired result, which is interesting because the inspiration comes from a simple gesture: rolling a piece of paper and placing it into a marble base. Our intention was to design a sleek, elegant lamp with a high-end craft perception. Developing the right lighting source, however, took considerable time.” Luca Nichetto explains.

salvatori-teo-lamp-ambient-8

The lamp comprises a double-layer circular base in natural stone, the first component of which contains the USB charger while the second houses the dimmable LED light. A sheet of rolled paper is inserted into the base to form the shade, creating a soft, gentle glow.

The result is a miniature piece of sculpture that plays with the reflections of light and the fascinating juxtaposition of the unyielding, eternal stone and the ephemeral, delicate paper.

salvatori-teo-lamp-ambient-7

This year, Teo is available in a new selection of marbles with Bianco Carrara, Rosso Levanto and Verde Guatemala joining the existing selection of Crema d’Orcia and Pietra d’Avola. While the original versions were conceived to be paired with a classic white shade, the new variants combine with sheets of paper in a range of colours.

Part Teo lamp’s charm is the scope it offers for adding a personal touch, with the ingeniously simple concept making it easy to insert a plain or patterned sheet of paper to create a new lampshade.

salvatori-teo-lamp-ambient-2

Demonstrating the infinite array of creative possibilities, Salvatori has also introduced a limited-edition version of Teo, with two original designs by the popular Venetian artist Lucio Schiavon.

“My starting point for the paper shades of the wonderful Teo lamp designed by my friend Luca Nichetto for Salvatori was the art form of Chinese shadow play. You see the magic of transparency when a black ink brushstroke loses its weight and dimension and becomes a faint shadow, coiled in a cone of light. The joy of seeing one of my designs illuminated is a revelation because as an artist, I rarely think about the usefulness of my creations beyond seeing them hung on a wall. But in this case, they are an intrinsic part of a beautiful design object,” says Lucio Schiavon.

Domus Line presents NEXT https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/10/17/domus-line-presents-next/ Wed, 16 Oct 2024 19:00:06 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=28674 ]]> In the world of lighting design, technology is playing more and more of a key role in creating atmospheres that arouse emotions and enhance spaces. With this goal in mind, Domus Line introduces NEXT, a new sequential switch-on method that revolutionises how we perceive and interact with light.

The heart of NEXT lies in its ability to create a sequential switch-on effect that achieves the best performances with linear luminaires such as light profiles. The technology used has been developed with a wide range of applications in mind, such as lighting for wall-mounted and cabinet shelves, in environments such as the kitchen, living room, and bedroom, with the goal of offering versatile and high-performance solutions. Domus-LineDL-NEXT Domus-Line-Next

The effect, in which the timing of the sequence has been studied with extreme precision, identifying an ideal gap of 0.25 seconds between the activation of one luminaire and the next, is designed to enhance the environment by providing the eye with a fluid and dynamic effect. This can transform the atmosphere of the space with an elegant and sophisticated touch. The sequential switch-on effect not only enhances the design of the furniture but also creates an engaging visual experience, highlighting the shapes and details of the space in which it is installed.

With the GIRO NEXT remote control, the user can manage the sequential switching on and off, as well as adjust the brightness for single-colour luminaires. For dual-colour D-MOTION luminaires, the colour temperature can also be selected.

Domus-Line-Unika-NEXT Domus-Line-Unika-NEXT1

With NEXT, Domus Line not only meets the demands of the market but also anticipates trends, offering innovative and distinctive technology that combines design, functionality, and emotion. This system marks a major advancement in lighting design, enabling the creation of unique and personalised environments with its sequential switch-on effect.

Slamp Fiordlys Collection by Paolo d’Arrigo https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/09/12/slamp-fiordlys-collection-by-paolo-darrigo/ Wed, 11 Sep 2024 20:00:10 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=28256 ]]> Slamp celebrates its 30th anniversary by unveiling Fiordlys, a new lighting creation designed by designer Paolo d’Arrigo.

The Italian lighting company is known for its production and innovation – particularly in shape and materials – of stunning lighting designs.

A tribute to the beautiful harmony of organic forms peculiar to the natural world, this new sculptural design takes its inspiration from the sinuous waves of the Aurora Borealis and the moving silhouettes of Nordic cliffs.

SLAMP-Fiordlys-Linear-Gold-set-Kitchen

The distinct concentric shell structure of this new design becomes a representation of a visual narrative of Slamp’s 30 years, through the three materials that have marked its evolutionary milestones.

Starting from the innermost surface, the first material used is Opaflex®, which, characterised by a gentle golden hue, represents the origins of the brand; in the central part appears Lentiflex®, introduced about 15 years ago, which presents a ribbed texture capable of creating fluid and unexpected iridescent effects; lastly, the outermost surface is made with a new technology introduced in 2023 that allows the cold application of a metallised foil whose texture, as it lets light pass through it, creates poetic effects of light and shadow.

SLAMP-Fiordlys-Round-set-Restaurant

In keeping with the versatility and adaptability of Slamp’s approach in recent years, Fiordlys’ finishes are highly customisable. Designed in two pendant versions, round and linear, and a wall sconce version, it is available in three colours: White, Gold and Silver.

“Slamp was born out of a desire to come up with something new that was able to put emotion, surprise, at the centre. After 30 years, the constant enthusiasm and desire for experimentation is still our lifeblood,” says founder Roberto Ziliani, who consolidated this 30-year milestone for the company with the awarding of the prestigious Compasso d’Oro Career Award.

D-MOTION WAVE by Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/09/05/d-motion-wave-by-domus-line-2/ Wed, 04 Sep 2024 20:00:51 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=28141 ]]> Domus Line, with its innovative D-MOTION WAVE technology, redefines the standards of furniture lighting, offering solutions that not only meet visual needs but also enhance the design and aesthetics of home environments, particularly kitchens.

The D-MOTION technology allows your client to adjust the light intensity and colour with just a few simple gestures, personalising the lighting environment to suit specific needs and create the right atmosphere for every occasion. As lighting requirements in the kitchen vary significantly throughout the day, this level of customisation is particularly important as it can allow bright natural light for food preparation and then change to warm and enveloping light, creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere for a romantic dinner.

HOLL-BH-totale-ON

D-MOTION luminaires can be configured with integrated control systems such as presence and motion sensors or managed remotely via the DOMUS4U App or voice control. It is therefore possible to control the lighting directly from the luminaire or through various control systems, including the innovative KINY kinetic switches. This flexibility allows the lighting to be easily adapted to any specific requirement, enhancing both functionality and user experience.

The D-MOTION technology allows all of this without increasing energy consumption compared to single-colour fixtures. D-MOTION lights use the same power supplies and wiring systems as single-colour devices, ensuring simple installation and optimal energy efficiency.

HIPSO-D-MWA

To add an emotional touch to the daily lighting experience, the WAVE technology integrates with D-MOTION to create D-MOTION WAVE, introducing dynamic and progressive lighting activation. Inspired by automotive optical groups, WAVE creates an elegant and sophisticated visual effect. With the TDM (Touch Dimmer Master) switch, all connected lights turn on in sync and turn off in reverse sequence. This not only enhances the visual experience but also adds a dynamic design element to kitchen spaces, transforming lighting into a design feature that evokes emotion and wonder.

Lustra & Fiola from Ethimo https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/06/25/lustra-fiola-from-ethimo/ Mon, 24 Jun 2024 20:00:27 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=27222 ]]> Ethimo and Luca Nichetto create new inspirations in decor for adding lighting and character to outdoor spaces, a mix of traditional knowhow and contemporary design.

Lustra, the new floor lamp, and Folia, the original stool-table, become ‘symbols’ of how a timeless material like wrought iron can be reworked to personalise and enhance today’s living spaces.

Ethimo-Folia-LustraWhen used to create functional and ornamental pieces and objects, wrought iron brings with it an elegant legacy of Italian craftsmanship. This capacity has always been considered an art that has preserved its relevance over time, thanks to experimentation and innovation evolving to adapt to the different architectural and decorative trends.

Ethimo-Folia-LustraLustra is a floor lamp with a strong theatrical presence and innate elegance that rises to a height of two metres, with a one-metre diameter and a cap in blown glass.

Ethimo-Folia-LustraThe special working of the iron makes it a decorative element that transmits a welcoming warm mood; when lit, as well as doing its job providing diffused ambient lighting, it also creates a special eye-catching play of light and reflections that turn it into a true focal point in any setting. Ideal for illuminating dining areas, living spaces and zones for relaxing in the open air in any season, Lustra is perfectly waterproof and resistant to the elements.

Ethimo-Folia-LustraFolia is a stool that, if needed, becomes a side table, an outdoor accessory born out of a desire to design a shape to be used either as seating or as a table, to create a practical, versatile piece of furniture that offers simple, fluid, multiple uses, adapting to any situation or setting.

Its name comes from its design, a delicate leaf pattern inspired by traditional iron doors that defines the seat or table top, while the “stalks” form the structure and comprise its base.

Ethimo-Folia-LustraFolia can therefore be designated the role of either a stool or a side table, or, depending on the context, a (small) decorative sculpture to be used as extra seating or a handy additional surface, ideal for a conversation or relaxing corner.

Stackable and available in different colours, Folia is an element with subtle visual impact, yet sturdy safe construction.

Domus Line revolutionises under-cabinet lighting: innovation and functionality in the kitchen https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/06/12/domus-line-revolutionises-under-cabinet-lighting-innovation-and-functionality-in-the-kitchen/ Tue, 11 Jun 2024 20:00:18 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=27050 ]]> LED profiles are an ideal solution for creating uniform under-cabinet lighting, combining elegance and functionality.

Designed for recessed or surface installation, Domus Line LED profiles are an ideal example of homogeneous, discreet lighting that meets the requirements of any modern kitchen where lighting plays a key role, especially in the worktop area.

Domus-Line-LEDDomus Line’s range includes THEA, an asymmetrical light projection profile ideal for surface mounting, which integrates a linear single-colour or dual-colour D-Motion and D-Motion Wave LED module. The use of WAVE technology, inspired by the most innovative automotive lighting units, allows all the connected THEA luminaires to be switched progressively and synchronously by means of a dedicated control system. The dynamism of the light illuminates spaces capable of arousing emotions and creating a refined sense of aesthetics.

Domus-Line-LEDAs well as profiles, spotlights are an equally effective solution for under-cabinet lighting. These can be positioned in a row to illuminate the entire under-cabinet area, providing direct and powerful lighting. Elegant and discreet, Domus Line LED spotlights fit perfectly into even the finest kitchens, contributing to a well-lit working environment. Nowadays, however, worktops have become a technological space, where electronic devices can be recharged and small appliances can be used, as well as a place to prepare food. To meet these needs, Domus Line has created UNIKA, a multitasking luminaire that combines a perimeter light source with power sockets and USB ports, all in a minimalist design. UNIKA provides efficient worktop lighting, with sockets and USB ports safely located underneath the wall units to prevent cables from cluttering the worktop. The touch switch, which is also safe for wet fingers, can be used to switch the light on and off and adjust the intensity and temperature, maintaining a clean and uncluttered appearance.

Domus-Line-LEDUnder-cabinet lighting in the kitchen is not only a question of practicality but also a matter of style. Choosing appropriate solutions means creating a more spacious, comfortable and safe environment. A new leader that embodies the essence of modernity and functionality is emerging on the vast contemporary furniture scene. It is SYSTEMA, the new generation of furnishing accessories designed by architect Andrea Federici for Domus Line.

Domus-Line-LEDSYSTEMA is a structural lighting profile with a double light chamber and groove for the accessories in the collection, recommended for wall application under kitchen units. The structural profile has been designed to feature an upper light chamber with recessed optics that, by concealing the focal point, cancel the glare effect. The diffusers, made of diffusing opal methacrylate, run along the entire length of the profile, offering a combination of wall washing light projection on the upper side and functional light projection on the lower side. The single and dual-colour D-Motion light sources can be controlled independently or synchronously, along with the colour temperature control or selection for configuring SYSTEMA D-Motion.

Domus-Line-LEDSYSTEMA can be configured with a range of accessories developed specifically for the kitchen, which simply clip onto the groove of the profile structure and are designed in detail to best meet the various needs, guaranteeing maximum efficiency in the different areas of use. These include NETY, a power control and distribution unit that includes a power supply for the LED light sources, two power sockets, two USB-C ports and two touch dimmer switches.

Domus-Line-LEDWith Domus Line LED profiles, spotlights and multitasking systems, every kitchen can be transformed into a highly functional and aesthetically pleasing workspace.

New lighting from a-emotional light https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/06/05/new-lighting-from-a-emotional-light/ Tue, 04 Jun 2024 20:00:27 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=26939 ]]> Hot on the heels of a rebrand earlier this year, a-emotional light has introduced a new series of lighting that the company says “goes beyond aesthetics to dive into the heart and soul of lighting”.

This new approach sees light as the central focus, driven by the brand’s creative director Isaac Piñeiro, with elegance, emotion and innovation as the fundamental elements.

Nebra

The Nebra linear suspension lamp collection has been expanded to include three different sizes. This modular offering allows a variety of compositions with each unit at various heights and depths to create a linear interplay of planes and light. The new uncoated stainless-steel Inox mesh, with an internal parchment diffuser to filter the light, was designed by Cenlitros for a more industrial look.

Onn

Onn, designed by Arturo Álvarez, is now available in a brand new black finish. The Onn collection is available in a variety of sizes and can be combined in a multitude of options to create different looks and aesthetics.

Available in five different sizes, from Mini to XL, these painted stainless steel mesh bell-shaped lamps offer a broad range of possibilities. Beyond their functionality, they are notable for their variety of colours, including white, beige, grey, and the new black.

Tempo

Designed by Arturo Álvarez, the Tempo collection has been expanded to include two new sizes, Mini and Large, to complement the original model. Again, these can be grouped as needed to provide different lighting combinations and effects.

Available in a variety of colours (white, beige, grey, taupe, and now a new black finish), these pendant lamps highlight the unique texture of the painted stainless steel mesh through a series of pleats that evoke a fabric filtering light.

Parga

Designed by Cenlitros, Parga celebrates Galician tradition with a collection of slender floating sculptures made of granite, a stone deeply rooted in the company’s heritage. A new cluster canopy allows the connection of several pendant lights to a single electrical outlet, offering the freedom to design with light and cover various types of spaces with linear or radial compositions.

Par 18 by Catellani & Smith https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/05/29/par-18-by-catellani-smith/ Tue, 28 May 2024 20:00:13 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=26865 ]]> As the name suggests, these new Par 18 light models by Catellani & Smith are inspired by the spherical “golf ball”.

The Par 18 units are made from blown glass and shaped in a mould specifically designed for the purpose by Bohemian master glassmakers to obtain an exclusive texture based on the technical specifications and drawings by Catellani & Smith.

Par-18-Catellani-SmithThe aim was to maintain the transparency of the glass, while at the same time creating distinctive effects thanks to the interaction of the light with the irregular inner surface of the spheres.

Par-18-Catellani-SmithThe new series is composed of the striking Par 18 Chandelier and the Par 18 wall lamp. Par 18 Chandelier is a creation replete with character, suitable for residential, contract and hotel settings.

Par-18-Catellani-SmithOver the last few years, the development of a low-voltage system with premium-quality, interchangeable light sources has allowed Catellani & Smith to create bespoke chandeliers able to meet a variety of requests from customers.

Par-18-Catellani-SmithA splendid new entry to this project is Par 18 Chandelier, which can be customised with bases of different sizes and with different finishes, with the number and height of the elements determined by the customer. In addition, Par 18 Chandelier can be made using spheres with the same diameter (8cm or 16cm), or a combination of both sizes.

Par-18-Catellani-SmithThanks to the transparency of the glass and the slender cables that support the pendants, Par 18 Chandelier offers a splendidly light, elegant composition, as well as a distinctive lighting effect.

Par-18-Catellani-SmithPar 18 is a wall lamp, available in the two standard finishes black and white. The extremely low-voltage COB LED source of Par 18 casts a diffused light, and creates an enchanting pattern of shadows on the wall or ceiling, thanks to the irregular inner surface of the 16cm glass sphere.

Incorporated into the circular base is a brass joint that enables a 350° rotation on the horizontal axis and up to 90° on the vertical axis, so that the beam of light can be adjusted in the desired direction and enchanting light effects recreated on the wall.

Gupica lamps for Visionnaire https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/04/22/gupica-lamps-for-visionnaire/ Sun, 21 Apr 2024 20:00:13 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=26044 ]]> Designed by Gupica for Visionnaire, this is the stunning Aracea lamp and Lucente design lighting project.

Gupica is the brand and artistic identity of Gunilla Zamboni. The brand encompasses a multidisciplinary approach that extends to the decorative arts, interior and product design, contemporary experimentation and craftsmanship. It is renowned for its attention to detail and exquisite balance between contemporary and traditional elements that distinguish each project.

Aracea

Gupica-VisionnaireAracea is a lamp that takes inspiration from a liana with large oval and heart-shaped leaves. Both delicate and iconic, Aracea is the result of a reflection between natural/artificial elements as a constant/variant in the rapport between man and nature. Natural shapes become simpler outlining into functional objects.

Gupica-VisionnaireThe LED light source, like lifeblood, passes through the central rib of the leaf producing a type of direct lighting with a possibility of orientation that simulates the natural movements of a leaf and ensuring, at the same time, a visual benefit.

Gupica-VisionnaireIts modularity allows the declination in different models like, floor lamp, wall, table, hanging and floor-ceiling lamp, that make up the Araceae collection.

Lucente

Gupica-VisionnaireThe Lucente design lighting collection is inspired by the way light splits and reflects on the faceted surfaces of precious stones, creating mesmerising luminous effects.

Gupica-VisionnaireThe light-diffusing bodies of the lamps, which look like coloured gemstones in sophisticated yet simple shapes, are made of a secondary raw material obtained via the recycling of PMMA – commonly known as Plexiglass – reborn with a completely new appearance.

Gupica-VisionnaireThe opaqued LED light source, passing through the stones, produces a diffused light that brings out transparency and colours, and a unique graduated appearance – a beam of light that radiates in the room in a dynamic chromatic spectrum.

META by Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/04/16/meta-by-domus-line/ Mon, 15 Apr 2024 20:00:39 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=26421 ]]> A new archetype that embodies the essence of modernity and functionality is emerging on the vast contemporary furniture scene: META is its name.

Designed by Andrea Federici for Domus Line, this new structural profile stands out for its linear design and unparalleled versatility, offering a harmonious blend of aesthetics and function capable of adapting to the needs of modern space organisation.

Domus-Line-METAThe heart of META is in its innovative, single-colour or dual-colour D-MOTION and D-MOTION WAVE light sources, strategically positioned on the upper and lower sides of the structure for a uniform and dynamic light diffusion. This means it can illuminate rooms with elegance while creating a dynamic feeling of motion and vitality. By implementing WAVE technology, an exclusive Domus Line project inspired by the most innovative automotive lighting units, all the connected META luminaires can be switched in a progressive, synchronised manner using a dedicated control system. The dynamic nature of the light arouses an emotion that is capable of releasing a sense of surprise and beauty.

Domus-Line-METABut the feature that makes META truly unique is its versatility. With elegant shelves available in two different depths – 100mm (META-100) and 150mm (META-150) – the solution can be easily transformed to suit an array of needs and contexts. The shelves attach to the supporting structure with a simple action allowing full customisation of the arrangement of objects and accessories.

Domus-Line-METAAndrea Federici, the creative mind behind META, shares his vision: “Furnishing with light is one of the trickiest aspects to get right in a home. It requires using an intangible component to shape spaces, enhance rooms, convey emotions and suggest use for the people who will be experiencing these spaces and rooms. This concept guided the creation of META which goes beyond the simple concept of a furnishing accessory to become an essential element for everyday life in kitchens, living rooms and sleeping areas alike.

Domus-Line-METAThe minimalist design of META perfectly complements the demands of contemporary style, offering an atmosphere of lightness and sophistication. Its technological features, such as light intensity adjustment, colour temperature selection and integrated USB-C ports, turn it into a smart accessory that can interact with voice assistants and smartphones.

Bettisatti at Maison&Objet 2024 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/03/01/bettisatti-at-maisonobjet-2024/ Thu, 29 Feb 2024 19:00:49 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=25685 ]]> At Maison&Objet 2024, Bettisatti showcased two stunning collections – its new Marmilla lamps from the Isoipsa collection, and the Intarsia mosaic collection.

The Marmilla lamps are designed by Donata Mariasole Betti. The floor-standing version features a Carrara white marble base that contrasts with its linear stem. The ray of light cast up to the marble lampshade from the base is not only an unusual design element but also brings out the veining of the marble, further accentuating the beauty of this collection.

The Marmilla lamp is available in floor, pendant and table versions, with the table lamp also available in a rechargeable version (via USB) and a metal stem made of aluminium. The light refraction highlights the play of geometrical components, creating a soft, warm and adjustable beam of light. The suspended “lightness” of the “hat” is a clever visual trick which is enhanced by the upward-facing light beam projected onto it.

Continuing the company’s focus on natural stone, Intarsia is a collection of marble inlays and mosaics which are fully customisable in size, material and compositional design. The elements serve to reinterpret marble in a contemporary fashion, featuring compositional designs that include serialised geometric characters and eclectic surfaces that have an almost dreamlike dimension. The collection harnesses inspiration from the world of nature with both free-flowing formations as well as distinct shapes that represent different creatures.

Bettisatti srl was established by Donata Mariasole Betti, Michele Citti and Valentina Satti and operates from premises in Tuscany, Italy. The studio specialises in projects across a huge scale and focusses on designing spaces for art and for living.

APEX DARK by Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/02/19/apex-dark-by-domus-line/ Sun, 18 Feb 2024 19:00:06 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=25792 ]]> In the world of furnishing lighting, finding a balance between functionality and aesthetics is fundamental. Domus Line has taken up this challenge with APEX DARK, a luminous profile that combines the practicality of a discreet light with the refinement of a dark finish. Let’s explore the distinctive features of APEX DARK and how it integrates seamlessly into modern environments.

APEX DARK: The perfect combination of functionality and style

DomusLine-APEXAPEX DARK is much more than just a lighting source. It is a micro profile carefully designed to offer a symmetrical light projection, ideal for installation under the shelf in wardrobes or on their sides. It’s dark finish gives a touch of discreet elegance to furniture, while the multi-layer co-extrusion diffuser ensures a “no dots” effect when the luminaire is switched on, maintaining a homogeneous appearance even in low light situations.

DomusLine-APEXAPEX DARK can hide the irregularities of the milled edge thanks to the profile section, equipped with two micro protrusions. This not only ensures a smoother installation but also reduces the protrusion of the profile outside the groove, contributing to a cleaner, more minimalist appearance. The end caps, perfectly matching the profile, ensure precise centering of the light source and facilitate the exit of the cable, which can be oriented axially or radially, depending on the installation needs.

Sophisticated lighting for modern environments

DomusLine-APEXAPEX DARK is equipped with a flexible linear module that hosts 180 LED/m (Osram), ensuring uniform light distribution and high colour rendering. When turned on, it creates a sophisticated lighting effect that enhances the surrounding spaces, while when turned off it blends harmoniously with the dark colours of the furniture, giving a touch of class without being intrusive.

DomusLine-APEXAPEX DARK by Domus Line represents the perfect combination of functionality and style. Thanks to its innovative design and high-quality light performance, it is the ideal choice for those looking for discreet but sophisticated lighting for modern environments. If you want to transform your spaces with a touch of elegance, look no further: APEX DARK is the perfect solution.

Veli Aurea is a reinterpretation of Veli, a light sculpture by Adriano Rachele which explores the evocative power of light.

Available in both wall-mounted and pendant versions, Veli Aurea’s delicate white texture is made even more poetic with special interweaves of gold leaf that infuse harmony and a strong emotional charge. The sinuous and elegant lines are emphasised by the light which, reflecting the craquelé gold leaf details, creates sophisticated and engaging effects.

As with all Slamp products, Veli Aurea is created by hand in the Slamp atelier by the Sarte della Luce (Women who Tailor Light) using the company’s exclusive, state-of-the-art technopolymers. This processing allows for the creation of a product in which complex configurations maintain an unexpected perception of lightness.

“To kick off Slamp’s 30th anniversary celebrations, we have chosen Veli, one of our most popular proposals, interpreted in a precious new version that represents our journey,” says Luca Mazza, the brand’s Creative Director. “We mark this important milestone by expressing our gratitude to those who have accompanied us over the years, and we look to the future with enthusiasm and energy.”

Veli Aurea is described as the poetic expression of Slamp’s thirty years of history and of the company’s desire to create lamps that succeed in transforming everyday spaces into enchanting places, full of beauty and splendour.

Slamp was founded in 1994 by Roberto Zillani with the aim to reinterpret the world of lighting. All the company’s products are handcrafted utilising flexible technopolymers that allow the creation of structured and complex shapes leading to a multitude of collaborations with international architects and designers over the years.

Linea Light Group preview https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/01/29/linea-light-group-preview/ Sun, 28 Jan 2024 21:22:22 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=25608 ]]> Linea Light Group will be exhibiting at Light+Building 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany in March with its new Node System for indoor lighting.

The Node System is the new indoor linear system designed by Linea Light Group’s R&D department with the goal to allow flexibility in application in order to overcome any architectural obstacle. The connection joints allow unparalleled installation flexibility, while the many available light modules and connection accessories – diffused linear bars or with darklight microcells, projectors, suspensions, flexible diffused light elements, etc. – guarantee total freedom and design creativity.

Linea-Light-GroupMono or bi-emission, wall, ceiling or pendant, Node System is synonymous with boundless linear and modular light for all interior environments.

Linea Light Group had its beginnings in 1976 as a company known as Minulamp which specialised in chandelier components. In the intervening years the company joined and was amalgamated with other businesses in the Veneto region; then, in 1985, the current name was created.

Linea-Light-GroupAt the beginning of 2000, the company from Treviso was among the first companies in Europe to specialise in LED technology, the perfect answer to the needs of energy efficiency, lighting efficacy, faithful colours and design versatility. The experience gained over the years has allowed it to acquire a cutting-edge know-how with Made in Italy design, electronics entirely made in-house and a R&D department with 85 dedicated professionals.

With 3 production plants, 15 branches around the world and 620 employees, today Linea Light Group stands out for its mission, which is attentive to the peculiarities and needs of local partners but from a “Think Global, Act Local” point of view, enduring global coverage and offering a customised and punctual service all over the world. The company has therefore succeeded to develop a market approach aimed at giving more space to ideas, giving the power of creativity back to designers, in any way and by any means.

J. Adams & Co present Tor https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2024/01/26/j-adams-co-present-tor/ Thu, 25 Jan 2024 19:00:40 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=25566 ]]> British lighting studio J. Adams & Co presents Tor, its latest outdoor collection exploring the capabilities of metal casting.

Inspired by the iconic natural formations, which have long stood as symbols of enduring beauty and strength, Tor captures the essence of its namesake. Much like these grand landforms that have weathered the test of time, the Tor Wall Light is a testament to the materiality and longevity that define the brand.

Tor-JAdams&CoA new direction for J. Adams & Co, Tor is the first collection to explore the decorative capabilities of metal casting. This centuries-old process starts by creating a mould into which molten brass is poured, taking shape as it cools.

Tor-JAdams&CoThe cast pieces are then removed, refined and finished to exacting standards. “At J. Adams & Co, we pride ourselves on blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative design, and the Tor collection is a true embodiment of that,” says Will Earl, Design Director.

Tor-JAdams&CoTor ensures reliable, long-lasting illumination that can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors, with an IP65-rating as standard. Available as a down or up and down version, greater flexibility is provided, allowing you to choose the best configuration to suit your specific requirements. Casting both an upward and downwards illumination, Tor Up/Down beautifully washes the wall with light.

Tor-JAdams&Co Tor-JAdams&Co

When lit, Tor reveals the subtle textures and patterns of the wall, creating a decorative play of light and shadow. The two LED light sources not only offer directional light but also indirectly illuminate the surrounding space, providing an ambient glow. The Tor Down casts a stunning downward illumination that is perfect for lighting pathways, steps and corridors. This version can also be used to accentuate architectural features, bringing both the wall and space to life.

Light + Building presents the trends for 2024/25 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2023/11/10/light-building-presents-the-trends-for-2024-25/ Thu, 09 Nov 2023 19:00:28 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=24861 ]]> Light + Building will be held in Frankfurt from 3-8 March 2024 and will showcase important products and solutions in the field of light and lighting.

At each show, a trend presentation is made by the trend bureau bora.herke.palmisano. These style experts have identified three relevant trends for 2024/25, which will be highlighted in analyses, lectures and an inspiring Trend Area at the Design Plaza in Hall 3.1.

Light is an elementary component of the built world. It sets visual accents, ideally combines aesthetically with the architecture, and at the same time fulfils functional aspects. Innovative technology enters into an exciting combination with forward-looking design.

The trend bureau has identified three key trends for 2024/25:

Welcome Tomorrow

Light+Building 2024Welcome Tomorrow combines magical lighting effects, fascinating designs with advanced technologies. The designers and developers ingeniously explore the innovative possibilities and create visionary designs. With stunning visual and illusory effects such as reflections, movement, unreal colour glow as well as sensory lighting effects, they create a hypnotic, supernatural aesthetic. Craftsmanship and sophisticated technologies come together consistently in the trendsetting designs.

Embrace Simplicity

Light+Building 2024Embrace Simplicity looks at the ever-growing awareness of beneficial designs and quiet arrangements. New design approaches open the view for holistic considerations: sustainable, functional and emotional are the results. Pure, natural, with structural and material sincerity, the authentic luminaire designs and the sustainable material developments are always associated with a story. Here, quality craftsmanship is just as much in focus as natural materials, imaginative experiments with alternative materials, modern manufacturing technologies and an unerring sense for the useful and the emotional.

Create Uniqueness

Light+Building 2024Create Uniqueness unleashes the special, the “one of a kind”, the incomparable. Here, diverse and special designs with a distinctly unique character come together in an eclectic mix. Striking shapes, expressive surfaces, unconventional designs – the interiors look like a select, curated collection of artistic pieces. The use of very different materials, which come together in unexpected, contrasting combinations, is also eye-catching. The spatial effects are charismatic: vintage appeal combines with clean modernity, craftsmanship with a free-spirited expression. In an inspiring dialogue between industry and craftsmanship, distinctive designs and stimulating compositional ideas emerge.

The trend scouts: Trend bureau bora.herke.palmisano

Claudia Herke, Cem Bora and Annetta Palmisano analyse international trends in fashion and art, interior and lifestyle for Messe Frankfurt. With their many years of experience and great expertise in trend forecasting and materials research, they provide valuable guidance with analyses, lectures and inspiring special shows.

Tulip Battery is a table lamp with a rechargeable battery by Marc Sadler. The steel stem supports a Lentiflex® corolla assembled and thermoformed by hand, enclosing an LED light source and producing a dreamlike flower that, with its slight tilt, seems to bloom and move in the air as if in dialogue with the space around it.

Lafleur Battery, the Lentiflex® table lamp with a rechargeable battery by Marc Sadler, is created using a manual thermoforming process. Its name and shape recall the corolla of a flower slowly opening outwards, with delicate lines embellished by shades of Prisma or Velvet. A metal disc can be placed under the tablecloth to turn the lamp into a centrepiece of light and ensure total stability.

Accordéon Table and Battery, designed by Marc Sadler

SLAMP-designer-lightingWith Accordéon, Sadler explores the endless possibilities of technopolymers, bringing together design, fashion, craftsmanship and technology. Accordéon Table is a contemporary table lamp in which Lentiflex® is heated and pleated manually by the Tailors of Light to create unique pieces.

SLAMP-designer-lightingAccordéon Battery – the tabletop version with a rechargeable battery, ideal for lighting home environments for an intimate dinner or as a decoration for contract spaces – features a transparent diffuser with a satin white finish, a matt black or white base, and a stem that provides stability.

Clizia Battery, designed by Adriano Rachele

SLAMP-designer-lighting

The brainchild of designer Adriano Rachele, Clizia Battery – whose name is inspired by Clytie, the mythological nymph who was rejected by the god of the Sun and transformed into a sunflower – is a table lamp with a rechargeable battery: a sculptural piece that blends organic and complex forms with unexpected lightness. The design of Clizia evokes the geometry of the natural world and consists of square Opalflex® or Cristalflex® components assembled by hand in an interlocking pattern through a process of “tailoring”. The exquisite Clizia Mama Non Mama finish emphasises Clizia’s luxuriant and seemingly soft petals, making the product a shimmering and expressive gift to share with others over the festive season.

Idea Table, designed by Marcantonio

SLAMP-designer-lightingFeaturing a light bulb magically suspended on an elegant satin brass structure, Idea Table is the unexpected and surprising design conceived for the brand by artist and designer Marcantonio. Its minimalist lines and stripped-back design eliminate any hint of decoration, celebrating the essence and power of light itself.

Overlay Table, designed by Analogia Project – Slamp&Montblanc

SLAMP-designer-lightingOverlay Table by the designer duo Analogia Project, created in collaboration with Montblanc, is the gift designed for those who love to spend their time writing. Combining the poetry of light with the most innovative technological systems, Overlay is a writing desk lamp fitted with an automatic switch-on system activated by lifting the pen from its leather housing at the base of the product, which is in turn fitted with an LED courtesy light that turns on independently of the cap. NEXUS by Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2023/09/07/nexus-by-domus-line/ Wed, 06 Sep 2023 20:00:18 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=24267 ]]> NEXUS by Domus Line is a micro profile designed for do-it-yourself configuration, making it easy to achieve linear lighting solutions customised ‘to the millimetre’ for both recessed and surface installation.

The collection, consisting of a universal profile in extruded aluminium, two types of opalescent diffuser shields, six different sensors and installation accessories, can be used to create configurations for both in-wall and under-cabinet application, recessed in blind or through grooves, and surface installed with the option of anodised aluminium or matt black finishes.

Domus Line-NexusThe opalescent polycarbonate diffuser shields, one for configuring the profile for recessed installation – with a covering ridge on the edges of the groove – and one to configure the profile for surface installation, couple with the aluminium profile to ensure a solid attachment and a perfect fit, without, however, complicating the decoupling of the components.

Domus Line-NexusNEXUS can be configured with six different 6mm light sources with single-colour and dual-colour D-Motion adhesive base, medium and high linear density with Osram energy-saving or energy-efficient LEDs. All sources are supplied in ten- or twenty-metre reels that can be cut to length and connected to the power cable equipped with the new CH6 pressure connector.

Domus Line-NexusThe sensors are built into the profiles and are supplied as standard with a power cable and connector for quick connection to light sources. Available in both recessed and surface-mounted configurations, they allow the switching on and off, dimming (SD – dimmer switch) and colour temperature selection (SD D-M only for dual-colour D-Motion sources) with a simple touch of the sensor, or for inside-cabinet installation with automatic switching on and off (PIR Sensor).

Domus Line-NexusThe NEXUS collection is completed by closure heads in a neutral finish and universal figure for recessed installation on blind and through grooves, and in a coloured finish (aluminium and black) for surface installation, as well as fixing clips that allow the luminaire to be disassembled or removed from the groove easily and with no need for tools.

KRONOS D-M by Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2023/07/14/kronos-d-m-by-domus-line/ Thu, 13 Jul 2023 20:00:05 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=23779 ]]> KRONOS D-M by Domus Line brings the magic of the way light can transform a space into the home. Light has the power to create atmosphere, arouse emotions and even mark the rhythms of time.

KRONOS D-M is a luminaire with perimeter, dual-colour light source, designed with the modern home in mind, and its need for luminaires that combine style and functionality.

Domus-Line-KronosThe circular shape of KRONOS D-M recalls the idea of time repeating itself cyclically, like a kind of eternal return that follows the daily circadian rhythm. But it is thanks to the integrated D-Motion LED that KRONOS D-M is able to adjust the flow and colour of light, adapting it to the time of day, ranging from the higher and cooler values of the morning, to the intermediate and neutral values of the afternoon and the lower and warmer values of the evening.

Thanks to its unique design, KRONOS D-M is incredibly versatile. It can be installed in normal or milled grooves but also in blind holes, with integrated switch or support for surface installation. It can also be installed on a cabinet to perfectly illuminate the work surface, under a shelf in the living area to create an outstanding focal point, or used to light the shelves of a walk-in wardrobe.

Domus-Line-KronosKRONOS D-M is a dual-colour luminaire. The light source enables the dynamic control or the selection of the colour temperature of the luminaire with the aid of a control system (sold separately). The colour temperature of KRONOS D-M can also be selected from the KRONOS D-M TDM switch. When KRONOS D-M is connected directly to a standard power supply, the light source is set to turn on to the natural white colour (4000 K). The super warm white colour (2700 K) can be set by connecting the 2TC cable (supplied separately) to the power cable.

KRONOS D-M distributes the light by integrating a perimeter light source into a luminaire leaving the light to trace the outline of the luminaire on its own. With KRONOS D-M, integrated or remote control systems can be used to select the temperature and luminous flux in both dynamic or step mode, and they can also be interfaced with the D-MOTION X-DRIVER devices and the DOMUS4U Bluetooth and DOMUS4U Wi-Fi apps, allowing the luminaires to communicate with a smartphone and the voice-controlled devices Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

GERA Light Bridge https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2023/07/06/gera-light-bridge/ Wed, 05 Jul 2023 20:00:04 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=23707 ]]> The GERA Light Bridge is a multifunctional light for the kitchen island, combining lighting of the workplace and the surrounding space together with storage and access to often-used items.

It can be integrated into the design of the kitchen, is dimensionally variable and of high quality. GERA Light Bridge is available in anodised surfaces of black, aluminium silver or in a stainless steel tone. Light colour and light intensity can be controlled individually to create a bespoke finish.

GERA-Light-BridgeDesigned by Thomas Ritt, who is responsible for design strategy and consistency of design for GERA, and similar to his other designs, GERA Light Bridge is a symbol of minimal functionality. Derived from the GERA Lighting System 6, the light bridge features a modular profile that allows it to create a bridge of light.

“Our products today are recognisable, clearly distinguishable and unique,” says Thomas Ritt, “and they ensure an unmistakable brand identity. Living space is becoming scarcer, and the floor plans are therefore smaller. If you combine the kitchen and dining room, you achieve efficient and communicative use of space. The kitchen island serves multiple purposes here. It structures the space, acts as a boundary and creates visual axes.”

GERA-Light-BridgeIn 2023, GERA Light Bridge was awarded the German Design Award from the German Design Council, one of the most coveted prizes in the design landscape. The award is an additional highlight in the design history of GERA Leuchten, which has won more than a dozen awards for its minimalist and timeless designs. As the “Winner Excellent Product Design Kitchen”, GERA Light Bridge proves again the design credentials and product strength of the company.

“Good design provides answers to questions that society is asking now and in the future,” adds Thomas Ritt.

“LIGHT UP your creativity” with Domus Line at INTERZUM 2023 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2023/05/17/light-up-your-creativity-with-domus-line-at-interzum-2023/ Tue, 16 May 2023 20:00:58 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=23306 ]]> “LIGHT UP your creativity”, this is Domus Line’s claim for INTERZUM 2023, the summary of a package of innovations that aims to stimulate the creativity and imagination of the company’s commercial and industrial partners, in keeping with its broader re-branding plan.

A project that takes shape in a vision where light becomes a creative element as well as a functional one. With the lighting design solutions for furniture proposed by Domus Line, it is possible to create environments that reflect the lifestyles of those use them, in which light helps to define the spaces and moods.

This innovative approach makes it possible to transform luminaires from simple accessories into creative elements that express the user’s own personality and how they experience the home, adding originality and harmony to living spaces.

SYSTEMA

DomusLine-InterzumTo go beyond boundaries, conventions and conceptual schemes. These are the objectives of the SYSTEMA project, a name that encapsulates the essence of a proposal which transforms an everyday action – arranging things, tidying them up – into a holistic and transversal proposal – a luminous furniture system.

DomusLine-InterzumThe result of the partnership between Domus Line and the architect Andrea Federici, at the heart of SYSTEMA is the holistic vision of design, offering infinite dimensional configurations and functional combinations of an object that focuses on the person and his or her behaviour but also on the environment in which it will be installed and used, with the aspiration of offering everyone an optimal experience.

SYSTEMA is a configuration created from a single linear structural profile that can be applied to any wall – masonry, plasterboard, wood, metal – guaranteeing installation without visible screws. The structural profile has been designed to feature an upper light chamber with recessed optics that, by concealing the focal point, cancels the glare effect. The diffusers, in diffusing opal methacrylate, run along the entire length of the profile, offering a combination of wall washing light projection on the upper side and functional light projection on the lower side.

IO

DomusLine-InterzumEssential design and versatility are the key features that make IO a functional and aesthetically appealing bathroom furniture solution, not only for the home but also for the world of hospitality. IO is a suspended system of storage units and shelves designed to furnish even small bathrooms.

DomusLine-InterzumThe result of the collaboration between Domus Line and Damiano Latini, IO is available in single and double module versions, and can be attached to the wall to hang suspended above the washbasin. The vertical upright has a rear groove to accommodate the LED strip and two side rails to attach the horizontal profiles.

DomusLine-Interzum Thanks to an innovative coupling system, the horizontal bars can slide along the rail and be fixed at the preferred height. IO’s simple and elegant structure is enhanced by the LED LED lighting that outlines its contours, and by a variety of accessories that allow it to be configured in line with what is expected of each individual installation. The shelves and other accessories are easily attached to the crossbars with no need to screw them on.

WAVE

DomusLine-InterzumWAVE is an exclusive, patented Domus Line project inspired by the most innovative headlight units of the automotive sector with dynamic switching on. The WAVE technology applied to Domus Line’s dual-colour D-Motion perimeter light sources allows for progressive and synchronised switching on of all the luminaires connected to a common dedicated control system.

DomusLine-InterzumThe dynamic nature of the light arouses an emotion that is capable of releasing a sense of surprise and beauty. The added value brought by the WAVE technology to the luminaires means being able to offer the market a solution that is not only innovative but also distinctive. The WAVE configuration applied to the luminaires of the UNIKA D-MOTION and HOLL D-MOTION collection is developed by combining a luminaire that integrates a dedicated switch with the slaves.

DomusLine-InterzumThe TDM (Touch Dimmer Master) switch allows the progressive and synchronised switching on of all the light sources, and their switching off in reverse sequence. It can also be used to regulate brightness and to select the colour temperature of the individual luminaire and those connected to the output cable of the master luminaire.

Leucos preview – Euroluce 2023 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2023/04/04/leucos-preview-euroluce-2023/ Mon, 03 Apr 2023 20:05:32 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=23029 ]]> Leucos renews its relationship with renowned architect David Rockwell and reimagines its Stacking Collection, originally conceived in 2007, for Euroluce 2023.

The existing collection, composed of three floor lamps made of handblown glass cylinders of different colours and sizes, is now joined by a series of striking new horizontal chandeliers and vertical pendants. The iconic Stacking lamp has been redefined with new models and colours: a horizontal pendant version offered in two sizes, and three vertical pendant lamps with the option for a wall application.

Leucos-Rockwell-StackingDesigned in 2007 by David Rockwell, Stacking is a human-scale floor lamp inspired by traditional Japanese lacquered stacking cups. It is comprised of individual hand-blown cylinders of coloured glass that can be stacked to form a radiant, atmospheric column. These glass modules were made with a traditional Venetian handblown glass technique called “incamiciato” (Italian for “jacketed” or “layered”), where a Maestro glass blower uses multiple layers of glass, each of different transparencies and properties. This is a labour-intensive technique has brilliant results, as it allows for different tones and opacity in each module. Assembled into each other, the cylinders result in chromatic overlays propagating light in a sophisticated way.

Leucos-Rockwell-StackingStacking was offered in three distinct colour combinations using multiples of amber, tobacco, white, fume, orange, and mirrored glass. Stacking represents a bestseller for Leucos. Its timeless design and originality also became one of David Rockwell’s favourite products, earning a place of pride in his studio office.

Leucos decided to evolve the legacy of Stacking and invited David Rockwell to design more lighting elements to enhance the existing collection. Contemporary techniques have been used for the new pendant lamps that nod to artisan traditions and the original Stacking floor lamps. The lighting fixtures include a set of horizontal pendant lamps in three sizes and three vertical pendant lamps with the option for a wall application.

Leucos-Rockwell-StackingThe modular glass cylinders are now slightly narrower than the original collection for a more delicate, refined look. Vibrant colour combinations were inspired by mid-century Murano glass and are interspersed with elements in contemporary metallic finishes, creating graphic dynamism. The horizontal luminaires feature metal end caps, and dimmable LEDs offer the possibility of creating a more direct or softer light, depending on preferences.

Leucos-Rockwell-StackingThe collection includes the horizontal Stacking pendant available in measures of 120cm and 160cm both with a diameter of Ø 10cm, and vertical Stacking pendant in 3 different lengths: 30cm, 60cm and 90cm all with a diameter of Ø 10cm. These last ones allow for a wall application.

SYSTEMA – a collab with Andrea Federici and Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2022/10/27/systema-a-collab-with-andrea-federici-and-domus-line/ Wed, 26 Oct 2022 19:06:57 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=22104 ]]> Passion, courage, the ability to look beyond conventions and put experience and professionalism at the centre; these are the ingredients of Andrea Federici’s Collab with Domus Line.

The design industry has evolved rapidly in recent years. Successful designers must no longer just ‘make things’ but be curious thinkers who understand how to improve the world around us. A blend of skills and an unconventional spirit encapsulated in the formula HDL (Holistic Design for Lighting), where design means all the research, conception and design activities aimed at the realisation of a product, and holistic (from the Greek holos: ‘whole’, ‘entire’) refers to the assertion that the whole is not the sum of the parts but the sum of its components, both material and immaterial.

Domus Line-SystemaThe importance and fruitfulness of an orientation aimed at satisfying an ever-increasing user base is fundamental, as is a design philosophy that pushes objects beyond their traditional functionality, seeking the contamination inherent in many furnishing solutions, which for example blend the kitchen environment with the living room, and the spaces dedicated to studying, working and entertaining.

Project Concept

Domus Line-SystemaThe holistic vision of design is therefore at the heart of the SYSTEMA project, offering infinite dimensional configurations and functional combinations of an object that focuses on the person and his or her behaviour, attitudes, motivations, and even emotions but also on the ethnographic environment in which it will be installed and used, with the aspiration of offering everyone an optimal experience.

SYSTEMA is therefore a way to do better than producing for a single purpose, be it to light an environment, or supply power, services or functions, by examining the points of view of human occupation from all angles of domestic life, such as cooking, eating, studying, working, having fun, reading, socialising, etc. Not least, the areas of installation and development of further configurations make SYSTEMA a holistic interior lighting system.

Domus Line-SystemaTo go beyond boundaries, conventions and conceptual schemes. These are the objectives of the SYSTEMA project, a name that encapsulates the essence of a proposal which transforms an everyday action – arranging things, tidying them up – into a holistic and transversal proposal – a luminous furniture system.

This is fundamentally the purpose of SYSTEMA, a unique design tied to a structural linear profile that can be applied to any wall – masonry, plasterboard, wood, or metal – guaranteeing its installation without visible screws. It features two light sources, one on the lower side and one on the upper side, which can also be configured as desired with single-colour or dual-colour D-Motion sources.

Domus Line-SystemaThe structural profile has been designed to feature both light chambers with recessed optics that, by concealing the focal point, eliminate the glare effect. The diffusers, in diffusing opal methacrylate, also available in the elegant smoked grey and smoked brown versions, run along the entire length of the profile, offering a combination of wall washing light projection on the upper side and functional light projection on the lower side.

The light sources, which can be dimmed, can be controlled independently or synchronously, as can the dynamic selection or adjustment of the colour temperature between warm white and natural white tones.

Domus Line-SystemaThe shelf hooks onto the groove of the structural profile with a simple gesture allowing the product to be configured according to specific space organisation requirements. In this way, the shelf is transformed into a true furnishing accessory, offering dynamism and movement to the walls and guaranteeing the typical functionality of support with the different shelves, each of which features an elegant containing edge.

Domus Line-SystemaThe light shelf can therefore always be configured in different ways, to create minimalist bookcases and wall units, to decorate the entrance hall as a pocket emptier, as a bedside shelf, and of course in the kitchen too, where it keeps things tidy, giving the decor an effect of absolute lightness.

Domus Line-SystemaSYSTEMA can be configured with a range of accessories developed specifically for the kitchen, and designed in detail to best meet the various needs, guaranteeing maximum efficiency in the different areas of use.

SYSTEMA generates an orderly, rational, fluid environment in line with the design philosophy of the entire collection.

Domus Line-SystemaThe NETY module is a power control and distribution unit that includes a power supply for the LED light sources, two power sockets, two USB-C sockets and two touch dimmer switches.

NETY, like each of the SYSTEMA accessories, can be attached to the groove of the structural profile with a simple gesture, allowing configurations according to specific requirements of space organisation and function.

SYSTEMA, a single profile that transcends conventions and the traditional boundaries between luminaire and furnishing accessory, resulting in an interior lighting collection that combines design and architecture, functionality and lighting dimension, services and creativity.

EASi by Domus Line https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2022/09/06/easi-by-domus-line/ Mon, 05 Sep 2022 20:00:30 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=21848 ]]> As part of the D-MOTION collection, a set of luminaires that enable the user to control brightness and tone of white, Domus Line offers EASi – a new, innovative interpretation of installations in the furnishing and interior design areas.

EASI is a state-of-the-art control system for D-Motion luminaires that combines radio control and special power supplies with an integrated receiving control module. The elegance of EASi DISK, defined by smooth lines and neutral colours that adapt to and blend discreetly and harmoniously with any setting, adds value to the product.

DomusLine-EasiWhen designing an artificial lighting system, especially in home, educational or clinical environments, it almost seems obvious to base it on the example of sunlight, in which the blue component functions as a timer.

With modern systems such as EASi, which use scientific know-how and can control the various components of luminaires in a targeted way, perceptibly heightened levels of concentration and wellness can be guaranteed.

DomusLine-EasiThe circular shape with rounded edges makes for a particularly ergonomic, safe grip, also thanks to the ring around the radio control that increases the grip and protects it from accidental knocks.

Furniture lighting becomes increasingly intelligent

In the connectivity and Smart Home areas, we are increasingly encountering completely new horizons when it comes to lighting design applications. This means that thanks to systems like EASi, lighting profiles, architectural luminaires, spotlights and even luminaires integrated in bathroom mirrors enable the user to control brightness and the tone of the colour white, ensuring a personalised set-up in line with the user’s specific requirements.

With EASi, lighting systems in which EASi DISK can be used to control up to three groups of a limited number of EASi DRIVERs can be created.

DomusLine-Easi DomusLine-Easi

The system set-up is very simple: once the groups of lamps to be controlled with EASi Disk have been identified and the number of EASi DRIVERs has been calculated in relation to their consumption, simply select the group selector of the power supply, connect the luminaires and turn on EASi DISK.

The use of the radio control, with five function buttons, is intuitive also thanks to the pre-set programmes that are activated in loop and enable the user to select both the brightness and the colour temperature, either dynamically or in stages.

EASi can also be supplied to control static light luminaires with the radio control that activates the On-Off functions and controls the brightness.

Mirei Monticelli at Salone Satellite https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2022/08/16/mirei-monticelli-at-salone-satellite/ Mon, 15 Aug 2022 20:00:50 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=21741 ]]> Young Milan-based designer Mirei Monticelli presented at her booth in Salone Satellite earlier this year as part of the curated section within Salone del Mobile.Milano.

Mirei’s new collection “Ocean Myths” takes inspiration from the sea – as the name implies – and it uses the semi-transparent Banaca fabric for which she is known.

Mirei-MonticelliThe centrepiece of the collection is “Riva” (the Italian word for “shore”). This gracefully flowing hanging lamp exploits the intrinsic properties of the Banaca fabric in order to resemble a wave crashing onto the shore. A delicate colouring of the fabric – done with a studied gradient – strengthens the impression of the last moments of life of the wave – exactly when water, air and sand are almost not distinguishable from each other.

Mirei-Monticelli“Anemone” lamp is inspired by the creatures living on the coral reefs under the sea surface and is a versatile table lamp in terms of size, height, and colours.

Mirei-Monticelli“Aphrodite” is a table lamp that is the direct product of an experimentation with materials. When asked about the reason of this experimentation, Mirei answered: “I always wanted to make a product with which experiment different techniques and materials. Playing with the materials that I could easily have in my studio, I obtained this material mix that really satisfied me both in terms of functionality and aesthetic. The fact that this material can be easily coloured is another plus to support my design”.

The base is made in concrete, with the addition of Banaca fibres. This mix of materials is what gives its robustness and stiffness needed for its functionality. Aphrodite reminds us of a shell containing a pearl, that is blossoming to the world – like the Venus of Botticelli.

Mirei-MonticelliIn addition to lamps, “Isole” tables were showcased at Salone Satellite. These tables are made from crushed shells recycled from the food industry. The Isole tables come in a set of three nesting tables, each one with a different colour – blue, green and red.

Artemide lighting collection https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2022/08/09/artemide-lighting-collection/ Tue, 09 Aug 2022 00:28:32 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=21711 ]]> Italian lighting company Artemide recently featured a range of new lighting concepts at Salone del Mobile.Milano that merge creativity with functional design. Artemide designs and produces light through a synthesis of humanistic vision, scientific research and manufacturing that are all measured with environmental and social sustainability.

Osidio

ArtemideDesigned by Michele De Lucci, Osidio is a thin, organic chandelier where everything stems from an optical concept. Three branched arms distribute six luminous heads, with each light terminal being able to swivelled to generate indirect light emission.

The separate heads allow Osidio to control the light in space in a free and flexible way, directing the light emission fully or partly upwards, towards the work surface or onto the walls to generate atmospheres of light that accommodate various activities.

Veil

ArtemideDesigned by BIG, Veil is a system of eleven arms that are connected around a technological core that supports them. The fluid and precise curvature reveals a high design and manufacturing competence. Veil is a graphic and minimal presence that can be dressed with an elegant diffuser.

The fabrics selected for the diffusers come only from fibres existing in nature, spun through mechanical processes without undergoing chemical processes. They have been chosen for their aesthetic and technical characteristics and for the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the crops from which they derive.

Stellar Nebula

ArtemideAlso designed by BIG, Stellar Nebula is a family of suspension lamps with which BIG wanted to interpret and enhance artisan glass blowing by combining it with innovative finishing techniques.

In this project, BIG designs the shapes of a suspension lamp and allows the beauty of the craftsmanship come through. The glass that is created is then treated with an innovative dichroic finishing process.

La Linea

ArtemideLa Linea is a flexible light tube capable of being arranged in non-standard geometries and which easily fits into indoor and outdoor spaces. Designed by BIG, the fixing elements disappear into the cross sections allowing countless applications and combination of factors including light quality, flexibility and modularity.

Able to adjust to extreme weather conditions, La Linea generates a uniform and comfortable diffused light with extremely high efficiency thanks to the patented optic. It can be a minimal presence in a setting, disappearing into the existing architecture, or become a strongly expressive element that adds rhythm and character to settings.

El Poris

ArtemideDesigned by Herzog & de Meuron, El Poris is a modern, graphic chandelier that is based around a large elementary geometric structure that features light bulbs housed in traditional E27 sockets. Calendared steel tubes of decreasing diameter are joined by four vertical mounts to create the structure.

Domus Line HIDDI D-Motion https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/2022/07/21/domus-line-hiddi-d-motion/ Wed, 20 Jul 2022 20:00:12 +0000 https://thekitchenandbathroomblog.com.au/?p=21614 ]]> Blending functionality with minimum dimensions, these are the underlying elements of the HIDDI project, a small LED luminaire designed by Domus Line for lighting cabinets with pull-out elements or with lift-up doors.

Just 2 cm wide and protruding 1.5 cm, HIDDI is compatible with any type of cabinet unit, and its compact, discreet size means it can be installed even in units with pull-out baskets and drawers of any size, both in the kitchen, the living room or in chests of drawers in wardrobes.

DomusLine-HIDDIHIDDI integrates an infrared sensor to switch the luminaire on and off when the drawer is opened or closed. The 180° “full light” diffuser, along with the high-performing LED cluster, perfectly lights the cabinet unit, integrating the luminaire into any furniture frame, thanks to its neutral finish.

DomusLine-HIDDIThe D-Motion configuration of HIDDI integrates a light source to select the light colour temperature (2700 K or 3900 K) simply by activating the sensor integrated into the luminaire.

DomusLine-HIDDIWith HIDDI D-Motion, Domus Line encourages involvement, allowing the user to manage the luminaire parameters by selecting brightness and colour with a few simple actions. Combined, these two parameters control the luminaires to suit the specific conditions of where they are installed and the activities performed.

DomusLine-HIDDIHIDDI is easily installed on the surface with a retractable bracket, which the sliding luminaire fits into, covering the fixing screws. The power cord can be disconnected, fitted into and hidden by a cable duct with an adhesive base in the same finish supplied with the luminaire.

Ero is a wonderful story about creating new beginnings, new life. A surprising harmony of remnants from two quite different worlds. Where memories of timeworn natural forms were used to sculpt a discarded synthetic material into remarkably alluring pendant lights.

WorkshoppedThe initial inspiration for the ero pendant light range came from the array of beautiful ocean eroded stones found along the shores of Byron Bay’s rocky headland. Domus-TynnThe characterising feature of the collection is its minimalist design that ensures that all luminaries can integrate perfectly into the furnishing elements. The luminaries can be switched on, switched off and dimmed with touch switches, infrared proximity sensors and wireless controls.

One of the most unique minimal profiles in the Domus Line collection is TYNN, an aluminium profile with a minimal design created for surface application below shelves. It integrates FLEXYLED SE H4, a flexible linear, side-emitting LED strip developed by implementing a new extrusion technology of diffusing silicone materials.

The design of TYNN, tilted at a 20° angle, ensures optimal light protection and rapid installation thanks to the use of only two screws. The light profile length can be customised on request, and the finish – matt black or anodised aluminium as standard – can also be customised.

Domus-TynnWith TYNN, Domus Line is exploring the latest furnishing trends with new proposals, in which elegant design and tactile pleasure come together to make even more stylish appliances, perfect for any design environment.
